Guidant Contak TR Pacemaker Recall
On July 18 th, 2005, Guidant Corporation ordered a voluntary recall of several of its pacemakers including Contak TR Pacemaker. It was discovered that some units manufactured between November 1997 and October 2000 might have had faulty seals that were supposed to keep moisture out of the unit. Although there have been no confirmed fatalities, 69 instances out 28,000 units have caused many people to rethink their trust in their health care
If you have a Contak TR Pacemaker model number 1241 your health could be in danger. Contact your doctor immediately if your pacemaker exhibits any of the following warning signs:
- Increased battery depletion
- Incorrect reset warnings
- Inaccurate pacing
- Advanced or incorrect replacement warnings
These are signs of potential malfunction of your Contak TR Pacemaker.
